TRUCK RENTAL

ABOUT

In 2014 our family sold almost everything we owned, including house and business, and left the country to gain a fresh perspective on life. We started our transition by going on a one year sabbatical to Costa Rica and Poland. To say that this trip change our lives would be an understatement. We realized that there so much more to life then owning things and working for things you don’t really need or want. We spent few months living in a sustainable eco village where our kids attended school and we had time to figure out what is that we really want out of life. Costa Ricans are the perfect example of people who can be so happy and kind while living with so little.

While living in Costa Rica, we ended up buying a vintage 1979 Land Cruiser named Dragonfly. This car taught us a new way to experience travel, slow and bold. She wasn’t afraid of sand dunes or deep waters, she huffed and puffed up the hills and meanwhile gave us the best memories. This car became a part of our family and since moving back to the States we have missed it greatly. We sold the car to a couple that lives in a bus in Southern California and uses our car to travel around when the bus is parked. It makes us happy to follow Dragonfly’s adventures on their travel blog.

Upon our return to the States, we didn’t want to go back to the same life we left behind. After extensive research we chose Green Mountain State, Vermont as our new home. After ditching our 2400 square foot home for a 900 tiny house in the woods, we have never felt happier. We own less things but we feel much richer inside, we put value on experience and time together instead of focusing on what our lives should look like. We have gardens, chickens and lots more time to travel and adventure on weekends.

In the fall of 2016 we purchased our third Land Cruiser, 90 series,  fully equipped with camping gear and overlanding equipment. Travelling in the car, camping wherever it looks beautiful, being spontaneous in life felt so good that we decided to offer our car and gear for rent. That’s how Wander Vermont begun, out of love for backcountry Vermont, out of passion for slow travel and out of need to spread the word about the beauty of Green Mountain State.

Give us a call today to start your own adventure in the backcountry Vermont.
